Hi, I'm Kendrick.
I’m a junior UX designer and volunteer Master Gardener who has dabbled in frontend coding since my preteen years (thanks, Neopets). I recently studied User Experience Design at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before that, I worked as a content writer, server, and occasional web designer.

Bricks Neapolitan Pizza
Bricks Neapolitan Pizza is a local chef-owned restaurant that I’ve served at for several years. I also handle the restaurant’s design needs, including the website.
I created the original website in 2016 using WordPress. I’m now redesigning the website to align with my updated UX design skills and knowledge, with a focus on the mobile user experience.
Restaurant management also requested a new logo variant to be used for stickers, stamps, etc. My concept—inspired by the kitchen's brick oven—is now being used on takeout packaging and more.

Opportunity Connect helps connect creative teens and young adults to qualified mentors in the Chicago area.
As part of a diverse product team, I've contributed heavily to research, strategy, and user interface design for the user onboarding and mentor search flows. The app is currently in development, and I hope to continue shaping the user experience and visual design of the MVP.

Tech for Campaigns
Tech for Campaigns is a US non-profit that helps state-level political candidates manage their web presence.
I led design on two responsive website launches, collaborating with project managers, developers, and copywriters under tight campaign deadlines. Our work improved monetary donation and volunteer sign-up conversions for both campaigns.
I also temporarily stepped in as front-end developer for one campaign, implementing a significant portion of my design using WordPress and CSS. My ability to jump in and take over helped keep the rest of the project on schedule.
Role
Web Design/Front-End Development
Tools
Figma, WordPress, HTML/CSS

Avivo
I was a member of a cross-functional team performing a one-day audit of a Twin Cities non-profit's website. We primarily utilized Google Analytics and usability heuristics to identify areas of the existing site with the most room for improvement.
I independently organized my key findings into a 49-page report. This report included prioritized issues and my recommendations, as well as additional resources (e.g., brand colors that meet WCAG 2.2 color contrast requirements) that the Communications Manager will leverage in future design updates.
Role
Usability Consultant
